The last page of chapter 2 is completed today. There is sooooo much awesome things going on and I am looking at setting up the kickstarter for the color book in a month or so. I am finishing off Book 4 rewards at the moment and hopefully shipping out the last of the Dark Road rewards very soon.

I have also made huge changes on the patreon and how it works. Now it is only a once a month donation and not per update. So much better in my opinion for everyone. I will though continue to upload color pages twice a week. As we hit our stretch goals I will be able to add more weekly updates. I just feel that this is easier for everyone.

On my way to the Amazing las vegas comic con this weekend. I am looking forward to doing FREE Sketches all weekend long and enjoying the heat. I heard it is going to be a hot one.

I wanted to thank everyone for the incredible support and look forward to seeing where the book goes. I am almost done with the first two chapters. I am looking at releasing it as a book soon. It will take a bit to make that happen- but I can only see this book as color now.  Still debating on hardcover or softcover. Any thoughts.

I really have enjoyed working on this section of the comic. The color has really help set the tone for the Forest of Dark Leaf. It is amazing how this project is fleshing out and how this story is looking. I am also enjoying seeing the comic move forward in color as well. I am pretty excited how color has really changed this story- for the better.

Good morning-

As many of you have noticed that the Bean coloring project has increased. Not only am I coloring the books from the beginning, I am also coloring the Bean from this time forward. Every new update will be in color. The reason is the only way this book will survive and grow in the future is by it being in color. I love b/w, yet, I understand that comics need to be adaptable and that things change. If my story will progress than I need to be able to adapt.

Yet the exciting thing is that you will see the story as I truly wanted it to be. In color. This is good. It will also be a heck of a job and one that is well worth it in my opinion.

As for getting the color books out, there will be a few changes. First off the books will now be only 2 chapters long (78 pages of story and 8 pages of extras). This will allow me to get the books out much quicker. I will continue to kickstart the books, because printing costs will rise because of the color work. Book 1’s first two chapters are almost done (4 pages left) and then I will kickstart it after book 4 gets out.

I am going to keep the books in the same format, yet I am looking at better paper and some really cool effects on the covers. I want them to continue to look fantastic.

Your support and understanding in this project has been crucial in getting this project done. It will go on for a bit, but now that I am moving it to full color doors that were previously closed will now be open. Bean will finally have opportunities to go in a different and wonderful direction.

New color update today.  It has sure come a long way and I am really excited that the first two chapters are almost done. The bean books vs 1 and 4 are now being reprinted. I am excited about what is happening. Very excited.

I am excited as I get close to finishing off this section of the comic in color. This means I will have the first two chapters of the comic of the bean almost done. It has been a very long road, yet I know that the road, though rocky is worth it. So many people have asked when I am going to release the book in color. I have wondered that myself, I have always wanted to – but the time was not right. As I work through the next few pages and finish up book 4 (which should go to press in a few days) I will sit down and figure out about doing another kickstarter to finally get the books completed in full color.

It will mean that I will have to split each b/w books into two books a piece- but that might be the only way to get the color books out in the open. It will also open distribution doors for the bean, something that I have not been able to achieve with the comic being b/w.

It will be nice to see this happen- I am thinking that I want the novels to be hardcover. I think it will add so much more to these stories.
