I want to thank everyone for all the kind comments, your support reminds me that there are very good people out there- I have had a lot on my mind since the car was stolen last night and a lot to ponder about.

A few main thoughts have gone through my head over and over again. The first is what do I need to learn? What does god want to teach me? There are many emotions that I can express, but at the end of the day it is the realization that I might not be able to control the circumstances, but I can choose how I will react to them.

So how will I react?

Well for one- I forgive the guy that did this to us. I hold no malice or ill-will. His soul is more troubled than mine, and I pray that he will one day get the help he needs. Forgiveness, means I don’t dwell on it either. There are things that will have to be done, formalities, etc… but I still am not going to wish an eye for eye… no, for me to grow as a human being, I need to be better and realize that a grudge is not worth it. It’s a load of bricks I do not wish nor will I carry. He will have to deal with the consequences of his actions, not I, nor am I the judge. For me- I will move on, I will be in good spirits and look at the blessings I already have. I do not know what the future god has planned for me and my family, I do know that he has one though.

So with that being said- I will tell you that I am at peace, with my thoughts and myself. It’s amazing how letting go of a desire of revenge and anger could be so freeing to one’s soul.

Next – In the great scheme and plan of things, that car was a temporal possession. It’s not crucial to my salvation, nor is it crucial to my future. It is an annoyance that I have to work around the situation, spend a little extra money on a very tight budget, yet is an opportunity to allow me to receive and appreciate the kindness of others. It is teaching me that I need to be more kind to others in tight situations and empathetic to others needs. It’s all about who is my brother or sister and how can i ease their burden, which in turns eases mine.

So I am learning, I can be taught. I am grateful not for the event, but the lessons I am learning as an individual. That even in trying times it is not as bad as it seems. That there is always hope, that the situation will change and that trials are to help me grow and maybe humble me as an individual so that I remember that in the great scheme of things it is not about me… but about others.

To the individual who caused us a little grief. May you yourself find peace. May you find hope in your own situation, that maybe one day you can past the need or desperation to take from others. I hold no grudge against you. No hatred nor anger. Because you do not control my emotions, I do. Because I control my emotions I can forgive and move on, with faith that I and my family will be take care of.

Thank you all once again for the words of encouragement and the love and the kindness. At the moment I do not know what I need except maybe a hug, a smile and a hope that you to will continue to look for opportunities to serve others.

See – i am not lying… it was not an april fools joke… Bean is really going to color. Right now I am coloring from both ends of the story:) Which is going to take a lot of work. Yet at the end of the day it will be worth it. In fact because of the color I am seeing new scenes and stronger development. If you want to support the coloring process visit my patreon site. As I said before, my choice to go forward in color was not an easy one. Yet, it is one that is based on giving bean more life and increase the stories fan base. The bigger it gets the more opportunities will be created for me to go back to multiple updates. I would love to get back to 3 days a week – personally. To do that I have to make the comic even more appealing. The story and the format is unique, and the color only makes it better.

One of my personal goals, is to make sure that there is transparency in my production with the fans. I’ve always tried to be honest and open and as things change, I think communication is the key. Do I have to do this, not really, but I want to. So many other people have invested a lot in me and my story that I am honored to keep you all in the loop.

The one thing I hope you see, is that I don’t give up. I keep pushing forward, I keep adapting. If you want to do a story or a webcomic, you need to make those efforts to adapt, and to not give up. I believe in this tale. I hope you do as well.

Good afternoon-

First off I bet you notice something different…. Well I would like to talk about the direction of the Bean, and one of the hardest choices I have ever had to face about my comic.

I got back from 2 Huge comic shows in a 10 day period. I am little tired, but I feel very very blessed with what came out of those shows. There was a bit of stability, a bit knowledge, a few tears, many smiles, lots of a free sketches and some clarity.  Clarity on something I have been struggling with for many many days.

You see this is a business for me as well as a passion. I love telling this story. I love it’s potential and love where it is going. I also b/w comics. I have a strong passion for them, yet I love color as well. Over the past 6 months I have had sooooo many stores want the Bean on their shelves. Yet they only want it in color, they will not carry the books in black and white.  It’s quite saddening, watching the demise of b/w comics these days.  Yet the bar is being raised by webcomic artist all over the grid, and they are telling some incredible stories. I’m being left behind, and part of what makes a creator successful, is their ability to adapt. Something I know how to do.

So for my story to survive I need to move forward and do as girl genius did and go color midstream and also continue coloring the 1st 4 books. I have even noticed my fans are asking for color. I understand the age. So after talking with my dear flatner, we have going forward with it. There will be some bumps, but once I get my scheduled laid out, you will see that is the best thing for this story. I can see it already.

I feel it in my gut- that first impression that this is the right thing. I will need your help and your support. If you want to join my patreon… please do that will help – but I determined to keep this story going- to give it the love it richly deserves – to help it move forward so more people can enjoy it.

I have also decided that to make this work and get a book out each year- that I will make them two chapters long instead of four. They will stay in the same size format. Once I get to that point though I will let you know how we will continue. I am in talks to make this work, but I think I will continue to kickstart the books.

Anyways – this was not an easy choice for me. It will mean more work – which I willing to do, and it will also mean more opportunities for me to support my family and get this story into more people’s hands. Thank you again for all of your support. If this frustrates my fans that after book 4 it will only be in color I am really sorry, I just have to survive.
